Now bhp© motorsport is also offering an increase in performance for the new Porsche Panamera Turbo. The second series Type 971 has now received a 4.0 litre V8 with 2 turbochargers and already has 550hp as a „turbo“ without hybrid. Thanks to all-wheel drive, the power also arrives on the road. Due to the recurring demand, the experts at bhp motorsport have dealt with the Panamera and put it on the in-house performance test bench. Unfortunately ( as of April 2018) it is not yet possible to improve performance by chip tuning (by optimizing the field of knowledge). however, bhp© is already working in cooperation with Alientech on a solution so that the software of the engine control unit can also be processed in the future.

 

In order to make the customer happy anyway, the team at bhp© motorsport decided to use an additional electronics. This is characterized by the latest technology and can process up to four channels in SENT technology simultaneously. The electronics were connected and adjusted and tuned on the dynamometer. The electronics now manipulate the connected sensors in such a way that the motor control unit compensates for the lower values by, for example, increasing the charging pressure. Thus, the engine control unit protects the engine itself from overloading. Based on the principle of bhp motorsport – everyday suitability and longevity are the guiding principle.

It is certainly true that with „correct chip tuning through characteristic field optimization“ you can achieve both more performance and influence more parameters. Compared to software optimization, however, the tuning box can be expanded and expanded quite quickly and is usually not recognized by the service partner. So you can have the electronics sent by bhp©. You get an installation instruction, which allows even laymen to install these.

 

 

And yet the power output of the electronics should not be underestimated. Depending on the setting, bhp© motorsport achieved a performance increase of around 70hp and almost 100Nm. However, we expect that in the foreseeable future, as soon as the engine control unit can be processed directly, even tuning possibilities up to well over 700hp and 1000Nm will be possible.

Currently, an engine warranty can already be concluded at an additional cost. A TÜV certificate should also be available shortly.
